What is trust? Most would say that it means to have faith or confidence in someone or something? People tend to trust in political systems, businesses/corporations, modern medicine & religions leaders. but for a Christ-follower, trust means so much more than that.
Consider this passage from Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
The next time you go to the carwash, consider this if you don’t put the car in neutral and take your hands off the wheel, the car will never get clean. When is the last time that you put your life in neutral and fully submitted to the Father’s will? Just because we do not always understand why certain things happen in our lives, does not mean that we should trust Him any less. It is in those dark & confusing times, that we need to hold on His power & His strength to bring us to the other side of the valley.
Did the disciples trust Jesus when He asked for a little boy’s lunch and stretched it to feed 5000 men (plus women & children)? Maybe not at the beginning, but I am sure that when all were satisfied and there were 12 baskets of food left, they saw Jesus in a whole new light (Matthew 14:13-21)
Every morning we have to decide who will be in control of our day. Will you continue to hold on tight to the steering wheel or will you let Jesus Take the Wheel
When you are making decisions do you take the easy path or do you take “the road less traveled”
Said another way we MUST
- TRUST God with everything,
- TRUST God despite our own knowledge & talents
- SUBMIT to God in ALL areas of our lives.
Do your best & trust God with the rest!
