Bright & Shiney New Year

“As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.” Mary Anne Radmacher
A New Year is upon us; may this year 2020, be the year we seize every opportunity for joy.
Christmas came and went, as it does each year, a beautiful passage where we remember anew that we do not walk in darkness; the Christ-child lights our way. Each and every Christmas we are invited to live in a way that transforms our lives. We are invited to live with Christ as the Lord of our lives, the keeper of all our dreams.
Always, the light of Christ longs to pierce our weary souls with His mercy, His peace, His forgiveness. The light is everywhere around us and within us, but sometimes we do not focus hard enough to find it. That is when we lose our way; that is when we feel all hope is gone. Focus is everything in life.
When we dwell in the light, the dark shadows of life cannot grab hold of us. The illumination of our souls becomes possible; everyday miracles erupt like a million falling snowflakes. Life really is brand-new each day.
Oh, the wonder of snow…Oh, the wonder that every single snowflake is unique; like us, no two are the same.
Imagine the wonder we carry inside ourselves; like snowflakes, each soul has been handcrafted by God. For Him, we shine and shimmer. For Him, we are endlessly beautiful, rare and precious beyond compare.
If we can but capture for a moment a reflection of how God sees us, how differently would we live our days, knowing our uniqueness matters in the world He created?
Imagine that shimmering light within us reflecting all around us. Imagine the love we pass along; imagine the lives we touch.
This is where the joy is. This is where the hope we have in Christ becomes manifest in our daily living.
We must continuously remember who we are, children of the Heavenly Father, sparks of light by His own creation.
The stars are lovely. Snowflakes are incredibly beautiful. But, there is nothing more beautiful than love; God, dearly loves us, each and every one of us.
May it be a bright and shiny New Year! May our hearts reflect the light that shines within us. May we be that light one to another, every day of the year.
John 8:12: Again, Jesus spoke to them saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
