Today is the first time we have had children in the building for 50 weeks.
I will admit that I was a little nervous when I got behind the wheel of good ole Bus #4 this morning. Usually the first day brings a lot of tearful goodbyes & peeling the littles off of their mama’s legs. But not today! Without fail every child donned their backpacks, put a smile an their face & climbed (dare I say skipped) up the bus stairs.
Unquesionably, the fact that some of them were here last year and that they have met their friends via zoom made this morning smoother.
The prayers that my husband & I prayed certainly didn’t hurt either.
Since it was naptime, I had the chance to snap a quick selfie. Do you like my PPE?

The mask was a gift from Rachel (Etsy). The butcher jacket is required because of the number of children that I interact with on a daily basis!
In the afternoon I was able to join one of the classes for a walk outside. The sun was shining and the children were happy!

This verse from Matthew was on my mind all day:
But Jesus said, βLet the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.β – Matthew 19:14 NKJV
Looking forward to another GREAT day tomorrow. β₯οΈππ

Sounds like a great start. The district where my husband works also went fully back today as well. He has had students in person all year because he works in the SPED department but this will be a big adjustment for everyone else … one they are all looking forward too. Hope your week continues to be blessed!

Iβm glad it was a wonderful first day back. I hope Chicago Land can keep face to face learning going without interruption. Yes, Lord, help us open our traditional brick and mortar schools! AMEN. π

Nothing like a pandemic to cause children to WANT to go to school! I love it!
