“Sowing Seeds”

I love learning new things so when there was a Friday night class at church on creating planters I jumped at the chance. Before the class, I had no idea what thrillers, spillers, and fillers were. But now I do! I only hope that I can keep the plants alive!

  • Thriller – tall attention-getter in the center or the back
  • Spiller – plants like potato vine that spill over the edges of the pot.
  • Filler – these fill in the gaps and add color

From our Facebook Page:

Planting with Sharon was a lovely evening of creating our own decorative plant arrangements. And, we learned about dead-heading, proper sun exposure, and more. As well, we shared some favorite Bible verses. Thanks Sharon for a wonderful evening!

“I love my plant arrangements and am excited to see them on my front porch tomorrow in the daylight!”

“I agree…what a fun night celebrating God’s creation & creating some beauty of our own.”

  1. Looks like fun. I’ve made up hundreds of flower pots for our business in the past but never knew what those were called. I love it. Success is a combination of good soil, proper watering (most folks actually kill their plants with too much) and placement. Your geraniums or sunpatience can take the heat, begonias or impatience not so much. I’m a big fan of using petunias to spill over as they grow but they do need regular dead heading. Have fun with your new project!
