All day long I kept telling myself, “Don’t forget to write your post for Five Minute Friday”. Yet, here it is, late in the day and I have yet to figure out what I should write about. Maybe I should just forget about FMF this week. No, I can’t do that.
So what’s a girl to do? Should I just ramble on about all of the things that I have forgotten in my life? What…huh? If I forgot, how can I write about it?
There are some things that I will never forget:
- The day my grandma (my best friend) went to be with Jesus
- The day I got married
- The day each of my children was born
- The day when my son asked Jesus into his heart
- The day my daughter took Jesus as her savior
Those events are permanently engraved on my heart and can never be erased.
As special as those memories are the most precious part of my life is the assurance that I will never be forgotten by my Heavenly Father.
Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people,
come to my aid when you save them, – Psalm 106:4 NIV
…[Barb], God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to [my children]. – Acts 10:31 NIV
God heard [my] groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. – Exodus 2:24 NIV
Thanks Barb, God remembers so we can forget… as far as the east is from the west so far has he removed our sins… we can forget and focus on the remembrance of what He has done. You have some great memories to remember ❤️

It’s amazing how extra-special days are etched in our minds – our marriage, birth of our children, our children’s salvations, our children’s marriages. Such significant births! Real births and the birth of new households.

I love all of those beautiful memories though have Barb.
Also your following statement is very close to my heart at the moment as a dear loved one battles with delirium & confusion, I know God wil not forget them;
“As special as those memories are the most precious part of my life is the assurance that I will never be forgotten by my Heavenly Father.” Amen!
Bless you, Jennifer

There’s some things I can’t forget
like doing 60 down steep hill
on a bike and on a bet,
and I guess I never will,
for the stopping left some scars
(I really did not think ahead),
and I woke up, seeing stars,
and somewhat glad I wasn’t dead.
The things we do that we should not
tend to live in memory,
and they are better un-forgot,
for they’ve become our destiny,
and I, in spite of blood and pain,
double or naught, did it again.

I’m so glad God doesn’t forget us or our needs, even if sometimes it feels like it. I’m glad He’s the God of remembrance markers and special events. It assures me that He is not a God who forgets. Kath, your FMF neighbour at #4 this week.

Today is my baptism day, Barb. I was a week old and therefore, don’t remember! But I do remember the deep God-experiences I had later in life that made me truly believe in the love of the Father!

I too recently wrote a blog on Remember. It’s for us that the Bible says that folks prayed that God would remember them in their suffering…cz God needs no reminders.

It is encouraging to think that just as we remember those special moments God always remembers us and will never forget us.
