  2. I’ve never had any luck with making instant rice. So my husband got me a Japanese rice cooker. It takes 40 minutes, but comes out perfectly every time. Sometimes the easy way is not as good as putting the time in to get it done right. Just like with God. Spend the time with Him in prayer and reading His Word, and you will come out perfectly, in the end!

  6. My diet’s now confined to rice,
    and occasionally hash browns,
    which might sound, well, not so nice,
    but it doesn’t get me down
    since I really can still eat
    (though it’s harder every day),
    and though I can’t face and meat,
    enough nutrition comes my way
    to let me do what I still can
    and find in what I do some worth
    in life’s now-truncated plan,
    and not be mourning at the dearth
    of feasts that life used to give;
    don’t live to eat, just eat to live.
