Three Resources for Preschool Teachers

For the last three semesters, the ECE (Early Childhood Education) department has given each of our instructors funds from ECACE to provide us with additional resources for our classrooms or personal study. It is always exciting to open an email telling me when the resources for the current semester are available.

This semester, my “goodie bag” included a board game, a cookbook, a picture book, and three lesson-planning resources. This article will focus on the latter – The Preschool Teacher’s Library of Playful Practice Set.

Exploring Math and Science in Preschool

Engage Preschoolers in Counting, Comparing, and Discovering Their Way to Learning

Practical strategies and valuable information on math and science.

Expressing Creativity in Preschool

Practical strategies and valuable information on art, music, movement, and dramatic play.

Learning About Language & Literacy in Preschool

Engage Preschoolers in Talking, Reading, and Writing Their Way to Literacy Learning.

Practical strategies and valuable information on language and literacy.

Each book in the set includes:

  • Learning center ideas
  • Engaging activities
  • Practical suggestions that are easy to implement
  • Ideas that support the development and learning of every preschooler
  • Children’s book recommendations

I have already discovered some must-try activities within the pages of each book. I hope that the activities that I have chosen are as fun and exciting for my students to participate in as they have been for me to prepare.
