SYNOPSIS
In this compelling portrayal of her life, Sabrena Jay guides readers through the early years, detailing her struggle with low self-esteem and depression. Driven by a desire to fill the void within, she sought the affection of David, a man whose life was shrouded in secrecy. Their romance plunges her into a whirlwind of new experiences, including the daunting reality of raising three children alone at the age of 22. Lost, confused, and isolated, she turns to suicide as an escape. When that proves futile, she embraces the will of God, allowing the loving grace of Jesus to lead her on a journey towards self-love and acceptance.
Sabrena guides readers through very important subject matters:
Childhood wounds
Self-worth and self value
The power of fear
The redeeming grace of God
REVIEW
Before you judge the lives of others, you need to walk in their shoes. So often, teens are screaming to be loved and respected for who they are, not who we dreamed they would be. God accepts us right where we are, in the middle of our mess. Why, oh why, don’t we do the same for others. If more Christians treated others (especially teens) with the love of Jesus, there would be a lot less brokenness in the world.
I received this book free from the author, publisher, or other source. My only obligation is to provide a fair and honest review.
I have come to realize lately that making assumptions about people is a form of judging. Jesus makes it clear that judging is not something his followers should do, but loving is. This sounds like a good book.

This sounds really good, thanks for reviewing it Barb. I’m in the middle of writing a memoir myself where I’ll share my own struggle with adversity and my come to Jesus moment and the many lessons learned along the way.
This book you shared definitely catches my attention in light of my own story.
