SYNOPSIS
One quiet mountain town. One poisoned sheriff. And a killer who won’t stop.
Sarah Smith runs a charming bookstore in Holbrook. She fills her days with family and friends.
She loves taking Fluffy, her retired police German shepherd, for walks. The last thing she wants is trouble—until someone finds the town’s new sheriff dead in his hotel room.
Suspicion quickly falls on Jennifer, the sheriff’s mistress, and Adam, a mysterious motorcycle rider. He appeared at the worst time.
Detective Jacob Rider, her boyfriend, tells Sarah to avoid the investigation. With many suspects and rumors spreading quickly, it’s best to stay away.
But when Sarah sees that someone will silence witnesses to escape murder, she knows she can’t back down. With Fluffy at her side and danger closing in, she must uncover the truth before more lives are lost.
