My glasses lying on the table, unfolded with lenses up. A rapidly cooling cup of after dinner decaf coffee, of course. One of my smaller journals sits open to my sermon notes from this morning. My favorite Bible, a gift in 1997, is open to Psalm 116:1-2.

It’s always a delight to catch up with one of these posts. I am sitting at the kitchen table with a relaxing cup of black tea with a touch of honey. A snow globe has been placed at the back of the table (from Christmas, it depicts the manger scene from Bethlehem). A series of small bear figures adorn the table as my wife has collected numerous ones. My ever-present writing notebook waits to record another journal entry.
