There are no coincidences in this life.
A friend has been after me for years to drive a school bus
I realized this summer that I needed to add a new client or two to my EVA business.
One weekend, two friends, who happen to be school bus drivers, told me about a part-time opportunity with our local school bus company
Flash forward 30 days:
- Initial classroom & behind-the-wheel training complete
- Multiple written tests passed
- Skills course and road test passed
- CDL in hand
- Students successfully delivered to school, home or on a field trip
- Special Ed training nearly complete
This did not happen by chance. God has given me the opportunity to be a light in students’ lives. I endeavor to greet each student with a smile and send them off with “have a great day” or “have a nice weekend”. I have no idea what challenges that a child faces when they are not on my bus but I can take the time to give sincere compliments on their artwork / new glasses or ask about an event that they shared with me.
I am excited about my new “mission field”
As I stated at the beginning, there are no coincidences in life, only opportunities that we had not thought of yet. You see, God knew just what I needed. With the split-shift, I am able to do my EVA work, continue my chaplaincy studies, do jail/prison visits and fulfill my church obligations.
