In this era when big extravagant gifts are considered “the best”, I choose to believe the a gift from the heart is more valuable than diamonds, gold or the latest gadget. As a school bus driver for Head Start, I have recieved many small treasures this year.
Artwork, homemade cookies, paper flowers, a hot drink on a cold day…..
I feel so blessed to be loved by these precious children & their families.
In the words of one of my favorite tunes, “Jesus loves the little choldren”
Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”And He laid His hands on them and departed from there. – Matthew 19:13-15
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate. – Psalm 127:3-5
Please join me in praying for the children & famlies that I come onto contact with each day. Thank you.
This is beautiful Barb! Thanks for the reminder of what a precious gift it is simply to be able to give wholeheartedly or in your case, be the recipient of some lovely and genuine gifts of love from the children and families you serve. Blessings on you and I will be praying for the families you encounter, Joy
