Praying in His Will

10 Things We Should Ask For When We Pray

Reblogged from My Creators Creation

1: We should ask God to cleanse us and make us pure.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7

2: We should ask God to take our sinful hearts, and create new hearts within us.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

3: We should ask God to fill us with the fruit of His Spirit which is: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

4: We should pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to have access to the power that accompanies it, so that we may be able to witness to the whole world on God’s behalf.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

5: We are to pray for all of mankind, for our leaders who have authority over us, so that we may live in peace.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2

6: We should pray and ask for God to keep us safe, though we may be surrounded by evil and darkness.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked. Psalms 91:7-8

7: We are to pray and ask the Lord to send out people to do His work.

Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:38

8: We should ask God for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done.

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done Matthew 6:9-10

9: We should ask God to supply us with our daily needs, and to forgive us our debts.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, Matthew 6:11-12

10: We should also ask God not to allow us to be tempted by the evil one.

And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one. Matthew 6:13
