I came across the phrase “compare and dispair.” today. The context was how dangerous it is to measure yourself against online personas of others.
The world tells us we have to measure up to some impossible imaginary standard. Satan whispers, “you will never be good enough.” The lie leads to the complete loss or absence of hope (Oxford Dictionary).
Dispair is letting the darkness of sin blot out the joy of walking in the light of God’s grace.
John 12:46 (NKJV) says “I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.”
So true. God asks us never to compare ourselves with another because that’s a sin in His sight. 2 Corinthians 10:12. Each of us are unique in our own ways and His masterpiece 😊❤️

Let’s call it a ^sermonette” 😊
When I need to get back on track, I usually read James. That book kicks my fanny every time.
John is a close 2nd.

I’m thankful we have God’s Word as our standard. In Christ we can be who we are meant to be.
