As most of you know, I am a volunteer chaplain at the county jail. The last time that I was able to visit was Sunday March 8th. That seems like a lifetime ago. So much has happened in the world since then. There are no visits of any kind allowed at the jail. They are cut off from any kind of emotional or spiritual support that programs like ours provide. I ask that you join me in prayer for the ladies to come together to study The Word and pray for each other in the days and weeks ahead. Amen.
I will pray for these women and their families.

I absolutely love that you are a volunteer chaplain at the county jail. These people need someone to come alongside them and love them through their pain. So many of them feel they are being heard for the very first time.
Praying for your comfort during this time of separation and that the Holy Spirit would lead them into some of the most powerful encounters they’ve ever experienced with His goodness and love! ♥

Thanks Holly. I just know that God has set up some divine appointments within those walls. Miracles happen when God’s people pray.

How do you become volunteer chaplain? I have had a heart for prisoners for a long time. I didn’t even think about them not being able to have visitors at this time…thank you SO much for writing this and for being a light. I will definitely be praying.

Most people that I know got involved becasue they have someone in their family who is or has been incarcerated. I got involved after meeting someone who was already serving. Every facility has their own policies on volunteers. Reach out to your local jail and ask if they use volunteers & go from there. Some of us visit regularly for church/Bible study. Some do one-on-one counseling. Some are letter writers. I hope you find a good place to serve. Reach out anytime with questions.

Great, thanks so much for letting me know! I think I might be better equipped to be a letter writer, so this is so helpful 🙂
