Whose Side Are You On?

I came across this great quote from Abraham Lincoln today.

“Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.”

Think about the meaning of those words. How often have we said, “I have God on my side” when we are in the midst of some kind of personal struggle? I know I have done so more than once. I think that mindset comes from a misinterpretation of Roman’s 8:31.
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? NLT

Looking at this with fresh eyes and in context, I see a much deeper meaning here. If we are walking in His will, we will not be defeated. But if we are going our own way, we cannot expect God to jump on the bandwagon & join our fight.

So the real question should be, do you want to live your life fighting your own battles or do you want to live in God’s will and have Him with you during all the ups and downs of this thing we call life.

I choose God!
