The Insanity of God: A True Story of Faith & Persecution [REVIEW]

I was recently invited by Revelation Media to watch The Insanity of God: A True Story of Faith & Persecution . My heart for the persecuted and lost was truly broken as I watched this documentary. Below is the synopsis of the video from Lifeway.com

See How Faith Can Flourish In A World Of Sin And Darkness

The Insanity of God is the true story of missionaries Nik and Ruth Ripken. After the death of their son, this ordinary couple journeys into the depths of the persecuted church, asking the question – IS JESUS WORTH IT?

How does faith survive, let alone flourish in the places of the world that are overcome with the darkness of sin, despair and hopelessness? Join the Ripkens as they tell the story of being taught by believers in persecution “how to follow Jesus, how to love Jesus, and how to walk with Him day by day even when it doesn’t make sense.”

The film is based on the best-selling book The Insanity of God and is released in association with the International Mission Board.

WATCH THE TRAILER

I struggle with how to end this, do I come on strong and say, “IF YOU LOVE JESUS YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS!”…OR…do I trust that God will prompt you to watch this (or other similar material) and then pray for the persecuted in our world.

Consider the following:

  • When I keep my witness to myself, I am in essence identifying with the persecutors!
  • Is Jesus worth your life and the life of your loved ones?
  • What are you willing to do for the Kingdom of God?
  • To get to the resurrection there had to be a crucifiction.

Father God,

I give this post and the persecuted to you. You know my heart in this area. May all who read this feel your presence and respond accordingly.

Amen
