My “One-Word” for 2021 is Abide. I wasn’t sure what to expect when God chose it for me, but each and every day He assures me that “we” made the right choice.
For instance, this morning I was reading a devotional from Feeding on Jesus by Jennifer Arimborgo. The focus was on Psalm 37.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret— it only causes harm. – Psalm 37:3-8 NKJV
Did you catch that? We are not called to blindly go about our lives. No, we are called to dwell (abide) with Him.
Don’t attempt to live your life as a solitary being.
“Instead: Trust. Dwell. Feed. Delight yourself. Commit. Rest. Don’t fret.
And then, do.” – Jennifer Arimborgo
Are you as awestruck as I am at the extent to which the God of the Universe & Creator of All Things is a concerned with your life & mine?

I love how God is connecting the dots with your word in different places. “Don’t attempt to live your life as a solitary being.” Great point; we were made for community not only with each other, but to abide in Jesus. Lovely!

As big as this universe is, and with this many people on the planet, yes I am awestruck that He would choose to care about little ole me! 🙂

Great word – abide! For 2021 Father God gave me three words: Abide, Dwell, and Delight.
I am currently studying the word “Abide” and what He wants me to learn and how to apply this word into my life.😇👣
