Possible – Five Minute Friday #11

I hadn’t thought about the song in years, but as soon as I saw this week’s prompt the lyrics of “All Things Are Possible” (Hillsong Song 1997) began running through my mind.

I remember well singing it and other similar songs at weekend & mid-week services at the Chicagoland mega-church we were attending. I believe that we actually sang it live with Hillsong at one point!

The chorus had a heart pounding rhythm that encouraged the worshipper to embrace the the truth that…

When I am weak, you make me strong
When I’m poor, I know I’m rich
For in the power of Your name

All things are possible
All things are possible
All things are possible
All things are possible

In those moments I experienced how veraciously unbelievably amazing it was when, “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”” Matthew 19:26 NIV

  1. Great song Barb, I hadn’t heard the Hillsong Worship version in years. I searched it on you tube. I used the same song on my post by a different artist.. When I read this, I thought how nice it was that this song came to both of us. Blessings my friend

  2. Christ says all things are possible,
    and He does not deceive;
    the raging river’s cross-able
    if you will just believe
and place your heart and all your trust
    squarely in His hands.
His guidance, it may be robust,
    for the Saviour understands
that your stride may need be lengthened
    to cross the storm-tossed miles,
but in Him you’ll be strengthened
by the tempest and the trials
from which you now don’t have to hide
for He is ever at your side.
