One of my favorite people on the planet is a 22 year old young man with Downs Syndrome. So when I came across a 5k to benefit Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network (DSDN), I knew immediately that I had to participate.
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused when abnormal cell division results in extra genetic material from chromosome 21. It causes a distinct facial appearance, intellectual disability, developmental delays, and may be associated with thyroid or heart disease.
I don’t usually do two 5k’s back-to-back but I feel great & am glad that I was able to help out two worthy causes.

You appear to stay so busy, Barb. It’s like you have more than 24 hours in a day. Two 5K’s back to back. Way to go!

I am a walker not a runner. I am way healthier now than I am was 12 months ago. I was nearly 120 heavier then.
