Happy Sunday, everyone!
I must have be living under a rock because I heard this song for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Now, I am obsessed with it!!
Death Was Arrested by North Point Church
Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin
Lost without hope with no place to begin
Your love Made a way to let mercy come in
When death was arrested and my life began
Ash was redeemed only beauty remains
My orphan heart was given a name
My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance
When death was arrested and my life began
Oh, Your grace so free
Washes over me
You have made me new
Now life begins with You
It’s your endless love
Pouring down on us
You have made us new
Now life begins with You
Released from my chains I’m a prisoner no more
My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore
He cancelled my debt and He called me His friend
When death was arrested and my life began
Oh, Your grace so free
Washes over me
You have made me new
Now life begins with You
It’s your endless love
Pouring down on us
You have made us new
Now life begins with You
Our savior displayed on a criminal’s cross
Darkness rejoiced as though heaven had lost
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand
That’s when death was arrested and my life began
Oh, Your grace so free
Washes over me
You have made me new
Now life begins with You
It’s your endless love
Pouring down on us
You have made us new
Now life begins with You
Oh, we’re free, free
Forever we’re free
Come join the song
Of all the redeemed
Yes, we’re free free
Forever amen
When death was arrested and my life began
Oh, we’re free, free
Forever we’re free
Come join the song
Of all the redeemed
Yes, we’re free free
Forever amen
When death was arrested and my life began
When death was arrested and my life began
When death was arrested and my life began

I can’t wait to be able to share this song with the ladies at McHenry County Jail when the current restrictions are lifted and our ministry can begin again.
Who are you going to share it with?
How has this song impacted you today?
Thanks for sharing this song with us. I am listening to it for the third time already and I saved the link in a document I keep on my laptop. This would be a great song to share at a the funeral of a believer who has died but is now new and alive like never before. Free! Free! Forever Free! Forever Amen!

Putting the handcuffs on death and hauled him off to jail. That’s what our Jesus did for us! Great song!

I love this song. My youth group introduced it to me a couple of years ago.
At the time I was watching a video that was recorded in front of a live audience. I love the way they cheered at the line, “but then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand!” I think it was then that I started my tradition of cheering whenever we sing about the Resurrection. (If my pastor can admit that he cheered himself hoarse at a football game, I can let out a whoop when singing how my Savior defeated death for all of us. 😉 )
