So Disappointing

On Friday, I met my sister-in-law at the gym for a pre-dinner workout.

After biking/running and swimming laps, we went to The Butterfly Club in Beloit, WI for a long awaited dinner. The restaurant has a good reputation and was very busy. However the food did not live up to the hype and was definitely not worth the price tag.

I know that this food looks good, but looks can be deceiving. Its a shame when you go out for dinner and go home hungry. I only had one section of quesadilla, some of the asparagus and two bites of the filet.

Connie’s chicken oscar was crunchy on the top and dried out.

The shrimp dejonghe that I brought home for my husband was rubbery.

Granted, our server was busy but her lack of attention to detail, our empty glasses and substandard food was unacceptable.

Fortunately, the company and conversation were exceptional.

If you live in the Beloit area, I would recommend going elsewhere for your next night out.

  1. It’s such a disappointment when a restaurant lets us down, especially when we were looking forward to it. Besides, we pay good money for the food and service. Sometimes it’s an occasional fluke–staff shortage or someone having an off night. We’ll often give another chance, but if the food and service is continually bad, we’ll stop going to that place.

  2. A disappointing restaurant experience is always a downer, especially when you’ve been looking forward to it and built up an appetite, plus the money you’ve spent. Hopefully you and your sister-in-law can find somewhere else nice to eat to make up for it 🍽
