If you’re like me, you have had more than one person in your life who made you scratch your head and say, “Why in the world did she do that?” or “He’s at it again.”
When this happens, we have a few options. First, we can ignore the problem and hope that it will disappear. Maybe harping on the offender until they apologize and promise never to do it again is a better option. If your default reaction is one of these, it’s time to consider employing the “biblical” option instead.
The whole Bible can be boiled down to this:
Love God and Love People.
But how do we put these words into action? It’s as simple as abiding in Christ and trusting Him to speak through you into whatever difficult situation you find yourself in.
Ok…I’ll admit it may not be easy to do but with practice you can learn to “speak truth in love” (Eph 4:15) that will transform the lives of others. Your words need to be accompanied by behaviors that exhibit mercy, grace and unconditional love.
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” – 1 Peter 4:8 NKJV
If you find it difficult…do this – Pray. Pray. And pray some more. Trust your Creator to guide EVERY human interaction.
Yes Galatians 20:20 comes to mind, I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. We do need to have less of us and more of Him in us, thanks for a thought-provoking post.

Amen! Christ helps keep our tongues under control and our hearts right! So necessary if we are going to love those that we find difficult to love!

Love does cover a multitude of sins, Barb. And He gives us grace to love, then love some more.

This is such a good reminder, Barb. Sometimes I get so focused on the “speaking” part of speaking the truth in love that I forget what biblical love as described in 1 Corinthians 13 actually looks like in action.
