Lisa Burgess, who hosts One-Word 2022, presented three sensory challenges this month.
1 – SEE IT – Put your word where you will see it often (post-it notes, wallpaper for phone or PC, vision board, etc.)

I am still looking for art that incorporates the word encouragement or Hebrews 3:13. If you have any suggestions, I welcome your input.
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. – Hebrews 3:13 NIV
2 – HEAR IT – Record and listen to yourself reading scripture/poetry about your word or listen to music that reinforces the meaning of it.
This song always lifts me up and spurs me on when I am discouraged.
Overcomer
Song by Mandisa
Staring at a stop sign
Watching people drive by
T. Mac on the radio
Got so much on your mind
Nothing’s really going right
Looking for a ray of hope
Whatever it is you may be going through
I know He’s not gonna let it get the best of you
You’re an overcomer
Stay in the fight until the final round
You’re not going under
‘Cause God is holding you right now
You might be down for a moment
Feeling like it’s hopeless
That’s when He reminds You
That you’re an overcomer
You’re an overcomer
Everybody’s been down
Hit the bottom, hit the ground
Oh, you’re not alone
Just take a breath, don’t forget
Hang on to His promises
He wants You to know
You’re an overcomer
Stay in the fight until the final round
You’re not going under
‘Cause God is holding you right now
You might be down for a moment
Feeling like it’s hopeless
That’s when He reminds You
That you’re an overcomer
You’re an overcomer
The same Man, the Great I am
The one who overcame death
Is living inside of You
So just hold tight, fix your eyes
On the one who holds your life
There’s nothing he can’t do
He’s telling you
You’re an overcomer
Stay in the fight until the final round
You’re not going under
‘Cause God is holding you right now
You might be down for a moment
Feeling like it’s hopeless
That’s when He reminds You
That you’re an overcomer
You’re an overcomer
You’re an overcomer
You’re an overcomer
So don’t quit, don’t give in
You’re an overcomer
Don’t quit, don’t give in
You’re an overcomer
Don’t quit, don’t give in
You’re an overcomer
You’re an overcomer

3 – TOUCH IT – Find a way to engage physically with your word.
A warm hug, the holding of a hand, or a gentle pat on the shoulder are the best ways that I know how to exhibit ENCOURAGEMENT. Sadly, COVID-19 protocols have made many people wary of physical contact. In my opinion, this has led to anxiety, depression, and loneliness.

I love this Mandisa song, too. It’s brought me a lot of encouragement when I listen to it. And yes, sadly your #3 is a bit harder to do the past 2 years. 😦 But hopefully that is changing again.

Very uplifting post! You are so right about Covid 19 having such a negative effect on people in terms of communicating with one another, and encouraging one another. A good old- fashioned handshake, something as simple as seeing someone smile, were all taken from us. I did find that people really tried to make eye contact…it was as if they were trying to ‘smile’ with their eyes.

Yes, I tend to make eye contact more often. So, I guess it’s a win!
