God’s Protection

You know that sound, the squeal of the brake ware indicator, telling you at every intersection that it’s time to schedule an appointment at the local repair shop.

We had planned to take my little truck in for a brake job over the weekend BUT not in quite the dramatic way that things unfolded. You see, as I was driving home from the grocery store, I heard a loud thunk. The brake noise stopped BUT the truck did not! I had no brakes! Blessedly, I was only a few blocks from home and all the intersections were clear!

After having my Ranger towed to “the repair shop” I received the picture below. The brake pad and part of the caliper were completely missing. Yikes!!

I am in awe of how God protected me from what could have been a REAL disaster.

This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
    he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap
    and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers.
    He will shelter you with his wings.
    His faithful promises are your armor and protection.- Psalm 91:2-4 NLT

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble. – Psalm 46:1 NKJV
