No way!
Ain’t gonna do it!
Have you ever said those words? I know I have.
Sometimes it makes sense to avoid the danger zone.
BUT THEN…
What about when God is calling you to step outside your comfort zone and live boldly? It can feel scary. Obeying God’s call can lead you into situations that may be considered dangerous by others. Whether it be evangelism in the inner-city, jail/prison ministry, or serving as a missionary in war-torn places, remember that if God leads you to it, He will lead you through it.
When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
Do not be afraid of sudden danger,
Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
For the Lord will be your confidence,
And will keep your foot from being caught – Proverbs 3:24-26 NASB
Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out. But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger. They came up to Jesus and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm. – Luke 8:22-24 NASB
But if you want anything beyond this, it shall be settled in the lawful assembly. For indeed, we are in danger of being accused of a riot in connection with today’s events, since there is no real reason for it, and in this connection we will be unable to account for this disorderly gathering.” After saying this he dismissed the assembly. – Acts 19:39-41 NASB
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? – Romans 8:35 NASB
Dear reader, be encouraged that no matter your age or stage of life, God has a plan for you so be bold and trust Him to lead you safely through the danger zone.
It’s ironic that what we fear is dangerous might be the “safest” place for us if that’s where God is calling us. So thankful for his promise to always be with us.

Your thoughts this morning make me think of Psalm 23, Barb: “Even though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.” If God is for us (and He is) who can stand against us? Amen!

Truly – outside of my comfort zone is one of the most uncomfortable (if not dangerous feeling) places for me. I’m working on it thought – learning to trust more. I appreciate your reminder and challenge today!!

Yes, even if it doesn’t feel safe the best place to be is doing what God is calling us to do! It doesn’t mean we’ll never face danger but he will be with us.

Barb, hi! For months I’ve been wondering who Barb H. was, leaving all those kind / interesting comments on my blog. I’m so happy to discover it was YOU … your name on your Blogger comments doesn’t link to a website and so I’m glad you shared your site info with me today.
Mystery solved!! Yay!

Oh, dear friend. Thank you for sharing this. Did you know you were talking directly to me today? I love my comfort zone, or as I say I like it here in my bubble. Pausing to reflect upon your words today. Blessings.
