You may not think so but we are all leaders at some point in our lives. Some of us will be leaders who are known throughout the world; while others will be coaches, teachers, parents, or neighborhood-watch captains. If you don’t fit into any of these categories that’s ok!
You see, “…if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”. – 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NIV
Said another way, once we receive Christ we are called to live differently. The words we say, the hobbies we pursue, the friendships we cultivate, the books we read, the entertainment we enjoy, and the God we serve should all point others in the same direction.
The question is, what kind of leader are you? Do you SHOW others the way to Christ or send them running as fast as they can in the other direction?

Best not think it’s me that leads;
if so, please get correction,
else it will be you that needs
to run diff’rent direction.
It’s not that I would cause you harm,
I should make that quite clear,
but you had better take alarm
at quantities of beer
that I am happy to imbibe
before I take a dare
that leads the Good Lord to inscribe
in some book, somewhere,
that if I practice what I preach,
I really should be on a leash.

Thank you for the valuable encouragement! Your post brought to mind Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s statement: “Your life as a Christian should make nonbelievers question their disbelief in God.” As we live our lives differently with lovingkindness, peace, and joy, we’ll stand out like flowers in a garbage heap!

We all have a circle of influence, whether we feel like leaders or not. How we live is so important, isn’t it?

I think Nancy, quoting Dietrich Bonhoeffer, said it best.
I hope my life makes others question their unbelief.
Great post, Barb.

Some of my favorite verses right there!! As Christians, God calls us to radically different lives that glorify Him!! Wouldn’t want it any other way!!

I’m slowly learning to be more vocal about why I do some of the things I do. I fear too often I’m not quite the witness I want to be. … FMF22

None of us are a perfect example, fortunately God stands in the gap.

Showing the way is best way, but I used to get over involved and try to do for others. I’ve grown since then.

Oh….I have too! After all, it is “easier” to just do it myself…right? 😉

“The words we say, the hobbies we pursue, the friendships we cultivate, the books we read, the entertainment we enjoy, and the God we serve should all point others in the same direction.” This resonates deeply with me.
I’d like to believe that in my own humble way, I’m showing the way as well. How well I’m doing that, is for others to tell.
