Now What?

My 2024 One Word (aka WOTY) is RENEWAL. I feel that God is leading me to a new outlook that will change how I do life & how I relate to others.

I’ll admit, now that I have put it down in writing, it feels like a BIG undertaking. Fortunately, God is in my corner. Otherwise, I might hide under the covers and wait for 2025.

I am an organized person who loves admin tasks like setting up my filing system for the year. You know what I mean:

  • New hanging file folders
  • New labels fresh out of my label maker
  • Shifting the folders from prior years
  • Shredding old files
  • Preparing to do my taxes as soon as all required documents arrive in the mail.

Will God change this process?

I went back to school in January 2023 and have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA.

Will God help me maintain this level of success or will He teach me to relax a bit and to be okay with an occasional B?

How will my relationships with difficult people be impacted?

Will I learn new ways to bridge the gap, or will they be removed from my life?

Will I learn how to better serve those who I see on a regular basis (including my spouse)?

How will my spiritual life change?

Will I pray more?

Will I discover a life-changing Bible Study?

  1. While this does sound a bit scary, it also sounds very exciting, Barb! I like my life neat and tidy too, but as we know, it rarely stays that way more than a second at a time. 🙂 I look forward to following your journey through Renewal in 2024!

  2. It’s good you have all these questions about how your word will play out this year, how God will provide renewal. I think the hardest one is “Will I learn how to better serve those who I see on a regular basis (including my spouse)?” Happy 2024!

  3. Renewal seems like such a good word, but I agree that it could be scary. Yet, with God as our guide, it can be exciting and we follow Him and watch what He does! Blessings to you, dear Barb!

  4. Your word for this year is very interesting. I love how it has already given you questions to contemplate as you advance through the year. Congratulations on your 4.0 grade point average. I know you had to work hard to maintain it.
