A Slightly Less Full Calendar

It has been a long time since I wrote a post for FMF.

If you glance at my Google Calendar, you will see that the days have been filled with:

  • A full time job that sometimes requires me to take work home
  • Going to school full time
  • Celebrating my first grandchild
  • Navigating how to get involved in a new church
  • Getting up at 4:00 AM for quiet time & chores before work.
  • Reading text books
  • Household responsibilities

Now that my schedule has loosened up a bit, I hope to once again participate on a weekly basis. “Is busyness a good excuse? How do I clear my calendar of so much “ink” without neglecting my responsibilities?”

I am pondering:

  • “Is busyness a good excuse?”
  • “Should I have made different choices?”
  • “How do I clear my calendar of so much “ink” without neglecting my responsibilities?”
  • “Will God bring RENEWAL as my busyness abates?”

“To find rest in busyness, we must prioritize seeking God’s presence. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God…” With chaotic schedules, self-assigned or otherwise, we must intentionally set aside time for prayer and quietness to seek God’s presence. ” – Abundant Life

  1. You are involved in doing many good things!!! In the midst of all the busyness, God is right there with you, encouraging you. I think it is good to celebrate the moments and congratulate ourselves on a job well done. Sometimes, we are so busy moving from one thing to the next, we forget how much that has been accomplished already.

  2. Oh, I love both your post and this verse and photo. It reminds us that while some seeds are finishing their work and letting go, others are just springing up and starting to grow. Thanks and have a blessed weekend Barb.

  3. Thank you for this post it is one of the hardest things to do, to choose to stop and spend time with God. Yet when we do things fall into place more easily.
