Sitting in my daughter’s kitchen, watching her precious English lab Sadie. A nearby window offers a view of the backyard’s still-green landscape. Checking my coffee cup, I find it is nearly empty. On the table, my writing notebook waits for me to return (but this exercise is filled with joy).
