Every year since 2020, I have chosen (or should I say God has chosen) a word or phrase to focus on for the year.
The progression has been:
- Attitude of Gratitude – 2020
- Abide – 2021
- Encouragement – 2022
- Teach/Learn – 2023
- Renewal – 2024
- Flexible – 2025
Each WOTY (One Word) usually comes with a logo and scripture (see below).
I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. – Philippians 4:12-14 ESV

I do this every year also. This year was different for me though. As I was praying, I thought it was going to be strength, but as I pressed in more, I realized that God wants me to Abide in Him. As I abide, and look into the face of Jesus, everything else will dim. So my word for this year is Abide.
