The pile of paperwork on my side table has dwindled today, I am glad to have put in the time. 📎

Ingredients on the counter remind me that I need to prepare my dish for tomorrow’s church potluck, where we will welcome our new associate pastor. 🍽️

The cats are sleeping on their favorite afghan while I contemplate another cup of coffee. 🐈‍⬛🐈🐈☕

  2. Today offered a reprieve from the crushing summer heat. I actually had the windows open, and could feel a slight breeze. Spent part of the afternoon contentedly watching an old Columbo rerun, with lemonade handy. Now, to make salmon for dinner. 🙂

  4. It’s an OCD day for me as everyone is a little sick from the Canadian wildfire smoke in our area. I look at a few emails, check the pictures on my camera, take a few sips of coffee and pet the little needy dog sitting on my feet (as it’s raining outside and puppy hates rain). My next task is to change a password again, maybe I can get into my photo editing program finally…after another cup of coffee.

  6. My Duvet it makes my nights warm and my sleep quality

    I don’t like being cold so I hang my jacket close to my bed so that when I leave my bed I put on my jacket

    My work outfits for tomorrow are hanged outside my wardrobe so that in the morning I just dress up and leave. I don’t have to waste time looking for an outfit

    There’s a carpet around my bed so that I don’t step on the floor when I leave my bed☺️

    Clearly I am in my bedroom

    Goodnight or good day depending with which part of the world you are😍

  7. Blessings Barb for encouraging some free writing moments.

    As I peer outside a window, the shadows inside continue growing. The glass is spotted with the numerous footprints from rain a few days ago. There is an empty chair at my table, but soon I will join my wife and daughter for a quick meal. An empty container of nuts testifies to their goodness.

  8. I’m out on the deck–it’s not too warm or humid this afternoon. A squirrel climbs a tree, hefting a black walnut to a secluded spot for his dinner. Near my feet sits a lantana plant where a hummingbird visited this morning. She drank flower nectar not three feet from my chair. Such fun to view them up close! Our little corner of the world is quite still right now; I’m wrapped in quiet.

  9. This is such a fun and creative exercise. I love the idea of noticing the little things around you! Right now, I’m sitting here waiting for the carpet cleaners to finish, so I might give this a shot while I wait. It’s the perfect way to pass the time and stay present!

Hi Barb, earlier this year – the hubs and I enjoyed the Little House channel – and both felt very grateful for the show and that we were able to watch it as children – and watching the shows this year was such a treat! Also, I think we like the first four or five seasons more than the last few – but really good stuff!
