I haven’t joined FMF (Five Minute Friday) for a L-O-N-G time. When I saw today’s prompt, ‘mend,’ I knew it was time to jump back in.
So here goes…timer on.
As we start a new year, most of us look for things in our life that we need to stop, start or MEND. I am one of those people.
God has called me to live with the word STAY for 2026.
So what happens when you cross MEND with STAY?
I hear God telling me to work on wounded or broken relationships so that He is glorified in each interaction.
Father God,
What do I need to MEND at work?
What do I need to MEND at home?
What do I need to MEND with extended family?
What do I need to MEND in my neighborhood?
What do I need to MEND at church?
I trust You with the details.
Your Humble Servant,
Barb

He is good at restoration when we are obedient.

My mending job today is to sew the ribbon back on the Christmas fairy’s dress. Your post prompted me to think about what else I need to mend – in my neighbourhood, in my relationships, in my plans for 2026. Thank you.

For what it’s worth, my 2026 word is BOGUS.
l have no idea why, except that it sounds skater-cool, and chicks dig cool.

That should be an interesting journey

Amen. If you are going to stay, you must mend. Most people run! You picked a great scripture for illustrating.

God gave it to me…of course. 😉

I like your take on the prompt. It can be hard to stay with broken relationships, but sometimes it is what God calls us to do.

The harder something is to do, the greater the reward.

Praying your word of the year “mend” is stirring you to work and grow in beautiful ways!! My word is joy and I love seeing it pop up at least a few times a week in physical form or feeling it in my heart in profound ways.

What a lovely word. Mending is something we all need to consider every day before the rips and tears ruin our relationships. 🙂
