Barriers* – Ann Aschauer [REVIEW]

I have read many books and articles on prayer over the years, some were more helpful than others.

I can honestly say that Barriers by Ann Aschauer is one of the best books I have ever read on the subject. I love the tag line on the cover, “So…if prayers are so powerful, how come mine don’t get answered?”

Aschauer explores fourteen reasons (barriers) that our prayers are not answered. Her no-nonsense style is appropriate for every one from a seeker to a seasoned Christ-follower. She is also very self-effacing in her personal experience with each of the barriers that the praying person can encounter.

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)

Ann Aschauer also blogs at Seeking Divine Perspective.

  1. Thank you, Barb. I’m honored.
One little note: My blog is “Seeking Divine Perspective.” – This from the lady who called it “Seeking Divine Perpsective” on my title page for over a year before another blogger caught it – and it’s my blog! 🙄 At least “prospective” is a real word. (“Autocorrect is my worst enema.”) Oh well, the book is about mistakes we all make and how to fix them. God is gracious – and He has a sense of humor, too. 😉
Again, thanks so much for such a positive and well written review. You’ve made an author’s day.
