Anyone who spends any amount of time with me quickly realizes that I thrive on organization. I get excite abut labeling new file folders at the beginning of each year. My day is organized using Google Calendar and Google Task. When I return from a trip I cannot rest until all the suitcases are unpacked and the laundry is started.
On the other hand, many in my life are the exact opposite.
I don’t think that any one approach is better than the other. After all, god created each of in his own image, with our own unique wiring and habits. However, scripture has much to say on the subject of order versus chaos. I have chosen two of my favorites to highlight today.
He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?), – 1 Timothy 3:4-5 NASB
In other words, if you do not have a positive influence on those that are closest to you, how do expect to be able to lead others?
Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in an abundance of counselors there is victory. – Proverbs 11:14 NASB
If we listen to the wrong voice, out lives can quickly go astray.
So, whether you live in order or in chaos, make it a priority to follow God’s lead on your life. As you make daily choices to ABIDE in Christ, follow the path that he has paved just for you.

Thanks, Barb, great post !
I also like being organized, but I accept that each of us needs to be able to tolerate uncertainty as well.
Despite my efforts to ‘control’ situations, often God’s plans are different from my own.
As has often been said : ‘I don’t know what the future holds, but I know the One who holds the future. 🤗🌷🌼

I appreciate the fact that God can take disorder and chaos and turn it into order and peace.

Ooh, I am just like you, Barb! I love organization. And getting my suitcase unpacked is the first thing I do when I get home from a trip. lol. My husband is a fairly organized person as well, but not to my extreme (probably a good thing!). 🙂 Abiding in Christ as he made us is excellent advice.

I suppose I’m a hybrid. I like tidiness and order with some things, but not others. For instance, all my music gear and electronic toys each have their own special places. However, much to my wife’s amazement, I can go days without making a bed.🥸

I love to be organised, it helps me to be at peace.
Although when I’m creating it doesn’t look like that lol! But everything goes back into place once the creation is complete 😉
Great post Barb.
Bless you,
Jennifer

The suitcase and the laundry are exactly what I do too, but there are other parts of my life that can be messy!

This was a great post! As you so clearly demonstrate, we must order our days and our lives around God.
