What Are You Doing?

It seems that every stage of life has it’s own PURPOSE.

Infants and toddlers spend every waking moment learning about the world around them.

Then there are the years of the 3 R’s – Readin’, Ritin’ & ‘Rithmatic.

After that comes college, trade school or other training to become an adult.

Not to mention finding your mate, buying a home, and raising a family.

Remaining single.

But then…the nest is empty and many of us are left wondering what we are supposed to do when our PURPOSE has flown the coop.

Consider this….none of the things that I listed above are your true PURPOSE. Yes they are part of your life but your true purpose is to be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. When we ABIDE in Him, everything else is just icing on the cake.

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: – Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV

  1. Your post reminds me of a song by Rich Mullins called, “One Thing.” The point of the tune is that Christ should be our One Thing, because the “Pure in heart will see God.” Thanks for the nudge, Barb! I need to always keep the main thing the MAIN THING. Blessings!
