“Living in the _____ of Christ”

My friend and mentor, Pastor Cindy, who blogs at Compassionate & Gracious was recently asked to be “pulpit supply” for a church on our district. The text of her 3-week series is below.

But first, a little “ABOUT” the blog.

Why Compassionate and Gracious?

When I decided to create a blog, the first question I had to answer was: What should I write about? It didn’t take long for me to realize that my favorite things to write about are faith and the nature of God.

With that in mind, a name for my blog quickly came to mind, a phrase frequently used in the Bible to describe God: Compassionate and Gracious.

The name of her sermon series was “Living in the _____ of Christ”. I promise you that each message is well thought out, full of scripture and ultimately teaches about the “rewards” of ABIDING in Christ.

These three truths are closely intertwined, but, in my experience, forgiveness is the key to experiencing what it really means to live in the freedom and the grace of Christ. If you recall, I promised […]

If you were asked to deliver a 3-week sermon series, what would you title it? Would you lean towards a lighter topic, fire & brimstone or somewhere in the middle?

  1. I’d call my three-week sermon series, “Three Bones I’d Like to Pick.” It would be a light-hearted, yet serious look, at common misconceptions among Christians. Thoughts like, bad things don’t happen to godly people. Blessings!
