Bloganuary – Day 19

Each day of January participants are emailed a thought provoking question that can be turned into a blog post.

Write about something mysterious.

The most mysterious “thing” that I have encountered is God.

How can He be the three distinct “persons” of Father (God), Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) and yet be the One and Only God, Creator of the Universe?

I don’t know how He came to be, but I have experienced firsthand how each “person” of the Trinity is at work in my life.

...yet for us there is only one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him… Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. – 1 Corinthians 8:6 & 2 Corinthians 3:17 NASB

How could He possibly love a profoundly flawed person like me?

He planned for my life and chose my purpose before I was ever conceived.

For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You When I was made in secret, And skillfully formed in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my formless substance; And in Your book were written All the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. – Psalm 139:13-16 NASB

How can He be omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent?

Omnipotent – almighty or infinite in power*

Omniscient – having complete or unlimited knowledge, awareness, or understanding; perceiving all things*

Omnipresent – present everywhere at the same time*

This essay by John M. Frame does an excellent job explaining how the omni-attributes work together for our good.

Yes, I know it can be challenging to comprehend that God lives outside of time and space and, therefore, already sees our beginning, middle and end. However, I don’t have to understand it to believe it.
