You Never Know…

As a blogger it can be scary to click the publish button. We can easily get caught up in negative thoughts like:

Why do I do this?

Will anyone read, like or comment?

Did I come on too strong?

Did I forget to check for spelling & grammar errors.

Would anyone notice if I quit blogging?

Why don’t my friends and family read my blog?

BUT THEN….

A dear reader comments on how your words helped them.

OR….

You take a peek at your stats!

Each time I look at this map, I realize anew that I may be the typist BUT GOD is the writer of this blog and HE is using it for global impact!

Mind blown!

Humility intact!

Encouragement received from above!

I will leave you with a passage from Ephesians.

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore it says, “ When He ascended on high, He led captive the captives, And He gave gifts to people .”And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, that is, Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. – Ephesians 4:1-8,11-16 NASB

  1. If you stopped blogging I would notice, Barb. And I wouldn’t be alone! By God’s grace you’ve carved out a fine niche for yourself: book reviews, foodie posts, life of a preschool bus driver, and much more.

BTW, I’ve chosen a word for 2022. It came to me during my devotional time this morning. Since I can’t remember the word I picked, my word for 2022 is “forget,” based on Isaiah 43:18-19a. And this time I wrote it down, with the scripture, in my journal.
    Have a blessed Sunday!

  2. The answer to those questions of don’t really matter much, there’s not real consequence if you do, but more consequences if you don’t because there will be readers that miss you and your message could have made a difference to at least one person, plus the fact.that you enjoy blogging.
Happy blogging – and whatever happens after you click publish, will be. 🤗✨

  3. You wrote my story too. But every time I think I’ll stop blogging, God shows me someone He blessed through my writing. If He can use what we write to bless, encourage or comfort just one person, I believe we are completing our assignment. When I was in retail, they told us for every one person that complimented or complained there were at least 10 that said nothing. I think the applies to writing also. And I’m constantly amazed when I look at my stats, that I am able to reach the world from my office in Central Illinois. Keep writing, my friend, you are fulfilling the great commission-go into all the world and preach the gospel.

  4. As bloggers of Faith we all have those annoying thoughts Barb, I’m sure whispered by the enemy!

But I see it this way, God called me into this ministry & until He closes the door I will continue to be faithful. And I get to meet brothers & sisters (like you) in this blogging ministry from around the globe! 🤗
    Bless you,
    Jennifer

  6. I have told myself numerous times over the last 10 years, maybe this is the last year I’ll blog through the Bible which means posting every single day … but each time, God has used something or someone to show me it’s not time. 🙂
