What Do You See? (#11)

Choose 4 things within 4 feet of you and write for 4 minutes. One sentence each.

Mac n’ Cheese (the cat) is gazing longingly at my lunch and rubbing his head on my arm. 🐈

These hot dry days are making my tomato plants and flowers droop. ☀️

The green & white rug under the chairs and cafe table make the deck an inviting space.🪑

Watching the ceiling fan spin is mesmerizing as it aids in cooling the room. 🆒

  1. I almost tripped over a rocking chair that sits on our back porch.

It’s still dark out here, and the glow of an iPad screen doesn’t reveal much.

A flowerpot full of Zinnias silhouettes itself where the porch meets the grass.

My Schnauzer, Cooper, just wandered within four feet, but he left after his mandatory morning ear scratching.

  2. A new desk chair that looks good but now feels questionable.
2 bamboo candlesticks on each side of my office door.
My father’s beautifully carved walking stick on the wall—His reminder to keep going no matter what.
My bookcase library with family pictures and mementos—how time passes.

  3. #1. A photo of my beautiful, spunky, adoring grandmother wearing a wide brimmed hat reminding me how covered I was by her by love.

#2. A lovely dish full of potpourri that’s lost their smell reminding me to do something about it. Sigh! Some oil of joy is coming for it and for me.

#3. A mirror reminding me to look at my face in the Bible to make sure it’s as clean as it can be.

#4. A bottle of my favorite perfume, “Shalimar” which means “house of love” reminding me that’s who we are bearing the fragrance of the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. What could be better?

Reminders are good, eh? Thank you Barbara for your delightful blog and this exercise especially, that reminded me to be grateful.
