SYNOPSIS
Men today long for a calling but often settle for the next best thing: a job. They aspire for a higher purpose but still have bills to pay and family to support. But what if men could find their calling in the work they are already doing?
In his new book Calling: Awaken to the Purpose of Your Work, author Pierce Brantley uses practical language and shares actionable steps to show men how to redefine the purpose of their work and discover what it means to have a “called career.”
Brantley shows men they can find a meaningful connection with God in the work they are doing right now. Men were designed for this partnership, and once they embrace it they will be awakened to the true purpose of their work—not just a career but a calling.
REVIEW
As a wife I have come to know firsthand that when a man is dissatisfied with his work, it can affect every other area of his life.
One of the first questions that men are asked is, “So, what do you do?” To avoid these questions a guy may begin to avoid certain social situations, family members and yes even church.
This book can help you (or the special man in your life) to find that calling and bring joy into work.
I received this book FREE from the author, publisher, distributor, or other source. My only obligation is to provide a fair and honest review.
I would like to say that this is very true.
I have discovered some interests that have little to nothing to do with my job, but still work my job to my best.
My “calling” is not a typical calling like the world sees as a career choice, but I can certainly understand what kind of passion and dedication it takes to excel in any career.
Colossians 3:22-23
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men…
