I am currently part of the Louie Giglio OBS (online Bible study), Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table. Over the last couple of weeks, God has used the study to show me that there is more for me to do, more for me to BECOME.
Below are a few excerpts from Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table (book) and the accompanying Study Guide (SG) that impacted me.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned, received, heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. – Philippians 4:8-9 NIV
“…take each trait [from the passage above and try to think of a specific way you have witnessed or experienced God based on that quality. For example, for “true,” perhaps the enemy has been trying to convince you that you are unworthy in some way. But recently, God revealed to you through the encouragement of a friend that you are loved and valued.” (pg 81 in the Study Guide)
“Victory can be yours. Right here. Right now. Victory is about examining the seeds that have been scattered in your mind and not letting them take root. It’s about pulling up and throwing away the thoughts that do not coincide with the heart of God. It’s about changing the way that you think.” (Chapter 7 in the Book)
“If Jesus says you can go forward, you can go forward” (pg 159 in the Book)
As I continue to move towards a place of victory I will BECOME who God intended me to be.
There have already been some BIG changes in my life that were clearly orchestrated by God. I’m excited to see where He leads me next.
