If there’s anything you want to know about life in first-century Jerusalem, you’ll find it in Jeremias’s classic study. Delving into economic and social conditions during New Testament times, he discusses industries, commerce, foreign influences, economic classes, social status, and more. His list of sources includes talmudic and Qumranic material, Josephus, Philo, and archaeological information.
This is hands down one of the best reference books I have ever owned. It is well organized and well written. The cross references make it easy to find the information I am looking for.
Thank-you TK for the recommendation.
