What Now?

I have committed to furthering my education. In doing so I will also be pursuing my 2023 WOTY quest to TEACH/LEARN.

Am I scared? Yes.

Am I nervous? Yes.

Do I doubt that I will be successful? No (ok, maybe a little).

BUT…

I have confidence in the God who gave me this opportunity for a new career. I know without a DOUBT and am “confident of this, that he who began a good work in [me] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. – (Philippians 1:6 NIV – emphasis mine).

So, dear reader, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

And on the days when doubt tries to sneak in, remember that “Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” “From childhood,” he answered.“It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”Mark 9:21-24 NIV

  1. Help me in my unbelief,
    this Doubting Tom hysteria,
and meanwhile could You bring relief
    from this relapse of malaria?
The fever and the soaking sweats,
the constant ringing in the ears,
    and fatigue that always gets
me caught beneath my deepest fears.
    The parasites within my liver
    have again come out to play;
can you just, O Great Wise Giver
please kindly make them go away?
Please answer this, my weak hope-bubble,
let cancer be my only trouble.
