And Just Like That…

I thought that God was leading me to have Teach/Learn as my 2024 One Word (WOTY) so as to expand on how Teach/Learn shaped 2023. And yet, as I read Marks of Maturity by Love Worth Finding in Christian Grandfather Magazine, God showed me that 2024 will be a year of RENEWAL.

WOW!

I am at the same time, scared and excited.

Where is God taking me?

Is the renewal for me or others whom God puts in my path?

My mind is racing.

My heart is beating.

I am on my knees, praying for His will to be done in and through me in the coming months.

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. – 2 Corinthians 4:16 ESV

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 ESV

  1. It’s interesting how God sometimes just takes us in a new direction when we aren’t expecting it! I’m sure you will find much with your new word, renewal. I haven’t even begun to think about a word for next year. Time is running out, so I’d better start thinking and praying. 🙂 Blessings to you!

  2. God is amazing! I think I have a word for the year, but God hasn’t confirmed it. Your experience makes me think I need to wait on the Lord, linger in His presence. May His will be done–in everything!

  3. What a wonderful, encouraging word Barbara! May it be true for all of God’s children who have been through many battles and so much tribulation.
I have read your word in previous years, but had never asked for the Lord to give me one too, but wow! As soon as I read yours, one popped into my mind and it goes along with yours. It’s the word “excitement,” and truly we shall have it when we’re renewed. I’m picturing giggling, clapping our hands, shouting “hallelujahs!” and the younger ones among us doing cartwheels…. us older ones doing them in the spirit. (Psalm 126: 1)
Thank you for being obedient and faithful to give us words of life. Blessings and much love,
    ❤️Michele
