Trusting God’s Guidance: A Clear Horizon #FMF

I’m a few days late for this week’s Five Minute Friday link-up. The prompt is HORIZON

<><><><><><><><><>

When I slow down enough to look to the horizon, it is abundantly clear that my view is not as it seems. For example, low-hanging clouds at sunrise can look like mountains, but there are no mountains in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We barely have any steep hills.

The same is true about making plans. I can see the desired outcome in my mind’s eye. However, if my plans don’t include God, I will fail miserably.

Which is more important? Is it to see everything clearly and move forward without a care in the world? Or is it to stay put and trust God to guide my steps?

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight – Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

  1. Amen 🙌

What we see isn’t always the full picture, and plans don’t work when we leave God out. Trusting Him, even when the horizon looks unclear, is what really matters.
