I’m a few days late for this week’s Five Minute Friday link-up. The prompt is HORIZON
<><><><><><><><><>
When I slow down enough to look to the horizon, it is abundantly clear that my view is not as it seems. For example, low-hanging clouds at sunrise can look like mountains, but there are no mountains in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We barely have any steep hills.
The same is true about making plans. I can see the desired outcome in my mind’s eye. However, if my plans don’t include God, I will fail miserably.
Which is more important? Is it to see everything clearly and move forward without a care in the world? Or is it to stay put and trust God to guide my steps?
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight – Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

Amen!

Amen 🙌
What we see isn’t always the full picture, and plans don’t work when we leave God out. Trusting Him, even when the horizon looks unclear, is what really matters.

great reminders here – and also, wow – we were just noting how some of the clouds can look like mountains – and it can remind me of times we lived near the mountains

I love how God give the same idea/thought to people who live miles apart. So cool!

The most important thing is always to “trust God to guide my steps.” Thanks for reminding us!

Great questions. God rarely gives the full picture but gives enough light for obedience. Our calling is not to stand still waiting for certainty, nor to rush ahead carelessly, but to trust Him as He directs our steps.🙏
