This week’s Five Minute Friday prompt is SCHEDULE.
Anyone who knows me knows that if something is not on my calendar or to-do list, it doesn’t happen.
When my children were at home, I used a paper calendar with events color-coded according to whose activity they were. As they got older, we eventually moved to having a shared Google calendar. I also use Google Tasks to organize my chores for the day. Before you ask, yes, I am that person who will add something that I have already done to the list just so that I can mark it complete.
At work, we use Outlook. My boss and I each have our own calendar as well as a shared calendar. The three are all displayed in one place so that, in theory, we will not have any schedule conflicts. We also have a printed staff schedule with a handwritten task list on the right-hand side. The trick is that one of us likes to write in pencil and erase tasks once they are complete, and the other typically writes in ink and draws an “X” through the task after it is done. I will let you figure out which is which. 😏
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. – Proverbs 16:9 ESV
But all things should be done decently and in order. – 1 Corinthians 14:40
I say all this to say that I need visible reminders to STAY on SCHEDULE. What do you do to manage your activities, appointments, and tasks?

I too am a color coordinator! Different highlite colors designate different tasks! Wonderful!

I’ve found out I need to continue this even in retirement. Truly not retired and busier than ever. Thanks for the reminder and encouragement.

And the older I get, the more I need any tool available to stay on track!
