I have learned that when I see or hear multiple things on the same topic, God is telling me that it is time to write about it. Now is one of those times.
Over the weekend I reblogged a post about World Mental Health Day from jesusluvsall. But I still felt prompted to speak more about supporing those who struggle with mental health issues, specifically self-harm.
First let me say, I have several people in my life who have struggled with self-harm. Each time I learn that one of these precious souls has resorted to self harm in order to easy their pain, two things happen. First, I am heartbroken, thinking that I should have done something to easy their pain. But then, I thank God that they are still alive and a part of my life.

To learn more about self harm follow this link to Crisis Text Line. The website is fairly comprehensive and has a direct link to talk to someone if you need help.
Another great resourse is Project Semicolon. They are “dedicated to presenting hope and love for those who are struggling with mental illness, suicide, addiction and self-injury”, and “exists to encourage, love and inspire”.
They can also be found on Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter
I love the image below because it speaks to both the hurting person and those that love them.

If you or someone you love has struggled with mental illness &/or self harm, try praying scripture over the situation. There are some examples below.
As my tag line says, “Love God – Love People – It’s That Easy!!”
