My mission for 2020 was to cultivate an attitude of gratitude. I will continue this mantra into 2021 with the addition of a Gratitude Jar.

The goal is to write down at least one thing that I am grateful for each day and put it in the jar. At the end of the year I will look back at all God has accomplished in my life & the lives of my loved ones. Maybe I can even turn the 2021 blessings into “art” and bless someone else.
My husband gave me the plain jar for Christmas & supplies from my craft room did the rest.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.Let Israel say: “His love endures forever.”Let the house of Aaron say: “His love endures forever.”Let those who fear the Lord say: “His love endures forever.” – Psalm 118:1-4 NIV
Happy New Year! May you be richly blessed in 2021🎉🥳🎉

His love endures forever….Amen

Thank you, my friend.
I have seen others talk about their gratitude jars for several years & always intended to have one of my own. I anticipate much growth as I focus on gratitude instead of whining.

Great idea! Your husband gave you a big jar. It will hold a year’s worth of gratitude. 😀

It’s not my original idea, but I definitely plan to utilize it to the fullest.

If you have a day when it is hard to think of something to be grateful for, you can write- “I am grateful I do not have to eat Matt’s cooking.” 🙂

I will truly celebrate when the jar is too small to hold them 🥳

Wow, I love this idea! I do something similar with a slightly different twist to it. I do use a big glass jug and like you, I wrote a post about it. Mine is titled Count Your Days. It was one of my beginning posts, you should be able to find it in the search if you’re interested. It started as an object lesson that I did for a women’s Bible study group. Then I continued it and my jar has been in use for a few years now.

How often do you read the notes? How often do you add to it? Do you ever add multiple notes on the same day?

My jar contains pennies not notes. In expressing it had a slightly different twist to it I was attempting to write a brief comment not misslead you.
The gist is on spending our time wisely. It is one thing money cannot buy. Every day as I drop my penny in the jar (representing that day) I thank God for the day, for life and ask Him for wisdom in stewarding it well. It’s part of my daily routine and launches me into gratitude from the start.

I am doing something similar in 2021, using a notebook which I plan to keep on my kitchen counter. A recent read of Ann Voskamp’s book, “One Thousand Gifts” has fueled that desire to be more observant of God’s daily grace gifts in my life.
